Hey all.

Can Codea be used to write native Objective-C iPhone applications?

Thanks.

    Hi @iPwnStore

Codea applications can be run on iPhone using the Codea Runtime Library, which is native Objective-C and OpenGL. Codea applications are written in Lua and run through the engine, which is open source. More information is at http://github.com/TwoLivesLeft/Codea-Runtime

  • @Simeon Can they be originally written in Objective-C, or Lua and then compiled into an iPhone application?

Codea is a Lua programming environment. Its engine is written in Objective-C (linked above). However you can not write Objective-C code in Codea.

Codea projects can be compiled into native iPhone applications, but again, that requires the engine source code on Github, above.
