How do I get the current scale, rotation, and things like that?

Is there a way to do that or do I have to keep track of it myself?

    I've heard that this is a planned feature, which leads me to the conclusion that it's not currently possible. It wouldn't be hard to write a wrapper around the current functions that recorded the changes of state, though.
